Rep Lauren Boebert (R-CO) has announced that she is now running in the more conservative Colorado 4th District instead of her current Colorado 3rd District.
The 3rd District is a huge swing district covering most of the south and western parts of the state. The Democratic candidate for said district, Adam Frisch, has got over 3 times the amount in funding than Boebert has. Last election, she only won the district by 546 votes, and a lot has changed since then.
Although the district has been leaning away from her, she hasn’t moderated her far-right views at all. Instead, she has now decided to switch districts to the Colorado 4th District, which is solidly conservative.
Additionally, the Republican incumbent for the 4th District is not running for reelection. This means that unless someone challenges her in the GOP primary, she almost certainly will win.
This does mean however that the Democratic Party will most likely flip her old district blue, which could be a big blow to the Republican Party with how close the margins are in the House.
All of this being said, she’s had quite a bit of controversy, especially after she went to see Beetlejuice, and was caught both vaping in the theater as well as having inappropriate conduct with her boyfriend.
We’ll have to see how this pans out in the end. Make sure to Follow our Twitter/X @WiscAdvance and turn on notifications so that you always stay up-to-date!
