We have been gone for almost two weeks now! We apologize for the delay in the news that this has caused. Here is a quick recap of what happened while we were gone.
Right before the Iowa caucus, Vivek Ramaswamy dropped out, meaning that the only three candidates left were Trump, Ron DeSantis, and Nikki Haley.
A very small portion of the Iowa Republican voter base actually showed up on Caucus Day. 51% of the votes went to Trump, winning him a slim majority. Ron DeSantis was in a distant 2nd, with 21% of the vote. Nikki Haley was in a close third with 19% of the vote. Vivek Ramaswamy got almost 8%.
Out of the 40 Iowa delegates, Trump was awarded 20, DeSantis 9, Haley 8, and Ramaswamy 3. Many people were surprised to see that the former president did not win by more.
Ahead of the New Hampshire Primaries for both parties on Tuesday the 21st, DeSantis dropped out and endorsed Trump. This means that Donald Trump and Nikki Haley are the only two Republican candidates left.
In New Hampshire, if you’re a Democrat, you will have to write-in President Joe Biden due to a legal conflict with the timing of the Democratic New Hampshire primaries, which we aren’t going to get into.
As well as that, a day before the New Hampshire primaries will happen, an AI deepfake robocall of Joe Biden telling voters not to go to the polls was going around New Hampshire. It is unclear at this time who is at fault for the scam.
We will follow the New Hampshire races once they happen tomorrow. Stay tuned for the article!
