Co-Founder of Home Depot Bernard Marcus is a billionaire and Republican mega-donor, and has supported the Trump campaign the whole way. He has said that he still supports Trump, but that’s not a big surprise.
A statement that shocked more people is when he said earlier this week that he would likely still support the former-president if he was convicted.
According to OpenSecrets, Bernard and his wife Billi Wilma Marcus gave around $25 million to Republican campaigns in 2020, making them the seventh-largest Republican donors in said election cycle.
Due to these statements, many Democratic voters are saying to ‘boycott Home Depot’, however it’s not clear at this moment what impacts that will actually have on anything. We will have to see in the coming weeks.
